SEAFOOD
SATURDAY

Serving up kaimoana to raise the profile of the Seafood industry.

The Seafood Saturday concept was the brainchild of Seafood New Zealand and Publik, who wanted to celebrate the diversity and quality of seafood produced in fishing and growing regions around New Zealand and the people working in the sector.

Keeping kaimoana cool

Hundreds of people packed the pedestrian area of Upper Trafalgar Street in Nelson on Saturday 25 March 2023 for the inaugural event, taking the opportunity to make the sunny day an outing for the whole whānau. Over 150 guests sat down to a multi-course seafood and Nelson wine tasting experience (tickets sold out in just two weeks!) and the FirstMate Community Hub came alive with festivities centred around New Zealand kaimoana, with free fish and chips for 200 kids, fish filleting demonstrations, ocean-themed activities and more.

Publik was there every step of the way to share the stories of the sector’s kaimahi far and wide.

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story can make all the difference.
